Adaptation
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) defines adaptation as "adjustments in natural or human systems in response to actual or expected climatic stimuli or their effects, which moderate harm or exploit beneficial opportunities".
In other words, adaptation means making adjustments and responding to the likely threats and opportunities that climate change may bring. This section looks at the need to adapt, the context for adaption internationally, at UK level and in Scotland, provides guidance on 'how to do' together with access to wide variety of tools to help you.
