UKCIP02: The Previous Generation of Climate Scenarios

The UKCP09 is the fifth generation of climate information for the United Kingdom, and is the most comprehensive package produced to date. Although the previous generation climate scenarios (UKCIP02) have now been superseded, these have been the basis for many existing projects and/or decisions. It is important that users evaluate the robustness of their previous findings using UKCIP02.

The UK Climate Projections provides information on Upgrading to UKCP09. Users are still able to access the UKCIP02 Climate Scenarios through UKCIP.

Adaptation Scotland and UKCIP have jointly written a guidance note which provides background information for users who need to evaluate earlier work that used UKCIP02: Assessing the differences – UKCIP02 & UKCP09
