Step 1 of Adaptation Scotland's 'Five steps to managing your climate risk' guidance aims to support public bodies to define the scope and governance of their adaptation planning arrangements. This workshop addressed some of the key elements outlined in this step of the guidance, with an aim of familiarising the new Adaptation Learning Exchange members with the tasks involved in implementing an adaptation process.

The workshop allowed participants to meet each other for the first time as a group, to find out about each other’s aspirations and to make initial connections. We also gathered important information to help tailor the rest of the programme, with the second and third workshops to be held on 26th August and a date in October 2015.

The workshop was attended by representatives from each of the six participating organisations and guest speakers included Angela Heaney and David Bright from Stirling Council.
