This visual illustrates seven good-practice principles that describe the main elements of effective community engagement. They have been designed to support and inform the process of community engagement, and improve what happens as a result.
The National Standards for Community Engagement were first launched in 2005. In 2015 the Scottish Government commissioned the Scottish Community Development Centre to undertake a participatory process to review and update the Standards.
